Exhibition: Documents, Drawings, and Records from the Office of Houshang Seyhoun

To mark the 41st anniversary of the Architecture of Evolution Group and the first anniversary of the opening of its Permanent Gallery, an exhibition entitled “Documents, Drawings, and Records from the Office of Architect Houshang Seyhoun” is currently on display. The exhibition aims to present a selection of historical documents and archival materials related to the professional practice of one of the most influential figures in contemporary Iranian architecture. It offers visitors an opportunity to explore part of the written and visual legacy preserved from the architect’s office.
The exhibition features a collection of architectural drawings, documents, records, and materials related to the professional work of Houshang Seyhoun. In addition to their historical value, these materials provide insight into his working methods, design process, and the professional environment of architecture in Iran during past decades. Curated with a research-based and documentary approach, the exhibition highlights the importance of preserving and presenting architectural archives while contributing to a deeper understanding of the history of contemporary Iranian architecture.
The exhibition is also being held in conjunction with the centenary of the Art Deco movement. To mark this occasion, part of the exhibition is dedicated to introducing this artistic and architectural movement, featuring a selection of books, journals, and archival materials related to Art Deco. This section allows visitors to become familiar with the historical background, visual characteristics, and broad influence of the movement on architecture, decorative arts, and design.
Alongside the display of archival documents and printed resources, a film screening program has also been organized for visitors. The selected films focus on architecture, art history, and the Art Deco movement, complementing the exhibition experience. This event continues the research and cultural activities of the Architecture of Evolution Group and represents an effort to introduce the heritage of contemporary architecture, preserve historical archives, and promote public understanding of influential movements in architecture and art in Iran and around the world
